Spanning the Prospect Avenue station, these five murals present an impactful collage of vibrant colors, offering passersby a visually striking and immersive experience. Oscillating between ancient and contemporary technologies, this project creates a dialogue between tesserae and pixels, where particles from different eras meet. The five murals are composed of layers drawn from the history of abstraction, intertwined with pixelated satellite images, historical maps, and photographs of the nearby waterfront, all printed onto glass mosaics. This process rewrites a new visual code, blending the languages of digital weaving (0s and 1s) and traditional mosaic-making, where perception and time fold into one another across eras.
